Global Therapies - Massage Therapists

2010 London Marathon

Global Therapies

Lynne and Tim are fully qualified Level 5 Sports and Remedial Massage Therapists and Level 4 members of the Sports Massage Association (SMA). Lynne also specialises in antenatal and postnatal massage therapy.

Tim has been climbing for about 12 years on and off - cutting his teeth on sport routes in Japan, cranking plastic in London and is finally making his home in gritstone country. He’s had his share of climbing injuries, from rotator cuff tears to tweaked fingers, and knows a thing or two about rehab and the frustrations of not being able to climb when injured. As such his strapping and taping skills - for injury prevention and rehab - are well practiced, not only on clients, but also on himself.

Having worked with a number of diverse athletes over the past few years, he is well versed in treatment and rehabilitation of amateur and professional sports injuries, and also takes great interest in looking at day to day posture and how it can affect sports performance and recreational quality of life. Tim has a keen interest in working with muscle and the connective tissues around the body. He is closely following the latest treatments in myofascial release - helping the body to re-order itself to a more healthy postural alignment.

Lynne was born in Sheffield and lived in the Peak for several years. She has been climbing on and off all her life, with various breaks for other passions such as caving, running and motor biking. Lynne has had experience as a massage therapist in London for the past two years working with runners, cyclists, motorcyclists, gym bunnies and non-gym goers who need remedial work because of the stresses and strains of their sports and desk-jobs. Lynne's continuing interest and fascination with massage therapy is typified by her ongoing training and development, which far exceeds the necessary 40 hours a year laid down by the SMA. As part of this development, she has gained experience in Breathing Pattern Disorders and myofascial release of the shoulder and knee among other things.

Tim and Lynne will be here on a weekly basis, have a look at their website for the exact dates and times. If you'd like to book a Sports Massage treatment contact Tim or Lynne directly (numbers below) and they'll confirm a time for you. When they are in the centre they'll be wandering around the wall as well - just ask them if you've any questions about treatments, stretching, or other ways to improve your climbing - or other sports - running, cycling etc.

Don't forget to check out their website www.globaltherapies.com and blog http://globaltherapies.blogspot.com follow them on Twitter @globaltherapies or Like their facebook page.

Please spread the word about their fabulous service - they're on site at Rock Over but your non-climbing friends, colleagues and family are very welcome to come and have a treatment while you climb. You never know, they may even be able to encourage them to give climbing a go!!
